Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team closed out the regular season with a 12th straight win, defeating Thomas More (Ky.) 7-0 Monday afternoon.
The 10th-ranked Blue Raiders finished the regular season with a 13-1 overall record going undefeated, 10-0, in Mid-South Conference play this season.
The Blue Raiders swept the doubles point to begin the afternoon as Steven Espinoza and Tiago Almeida defeated Gavin Dail and Brandon Kwok 6-1 to start the afternoon. Camilo Erazo and Nicolas Torrealba followed up with a 6-1 win over Juan Francisco and Jared Haught to secure the doubles point.
In the singles matches, No. 38-ranked Aleksa Ciric extended the Lindsey Wilson lead to 2-0 with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Haught. No. 27-ranked Erazo moved the Blue Raiders score to 3-0 with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Fernando Martin Paz. Jan Silhavy won the fourth set of the afternoon with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Gavin Dail for the 4-0 lead in the top-seeded match.
No 46-ranked Tiago Almeida defeated Juan Franciso with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep while Anatoliy Voloshyn defeated Casey Vicars with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of his own. Adrian Bello Cruz secured the victory for the Blue Raiders with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Kendal Johnson for the 7-0 final score.
Men's tennis now awaits their seeding in the Mid-South Conference tournament taking place April 15-18 in Owensboro, Ky.
