Men's Tennis wins 7-0 at Georgetown

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- No. 10-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's tennis ran their winning streak to nine straight with a 7-0 win over host Georgetown (Ky.) today at the Lackey Tennis Complex.

The shutout win marks the fourth time this season the Blue Raiders (10-1, 7-0 in the Mid-South Conference) did not concede a point. Lindsey Wilson remains atop the MSC standings with three matches to play in the regular season.

Lindsey Wilson won all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. The tandem of Tiago Almeida and Steven Espinoza dropped just one game in their third-seeded match while Nicolas Torrealba and Jan Silhavy won their second-seeded match 6-2 to claim the doubles point.

Camilo Erazo and Aleksa Ciric remained perfect on the season as a team -- now 9-0 in doubles -- with a 7-5 win in the top-seeded match.

As a team this season, the Blue Raiders boast a 29-4 record in doubles action.

Lindsey Wilson proved to be just as dominant in singles play -- dropping just 12 games in the six matches.

Ciric and Silhavy claimed wins in the top two singles matches while Almeida and Torrealba won at No. 3 and No. 6 singles by identical scores of 6-0, 6-0. Espinoza and Anatoliy Voloshyn also picked up straight-sets wins to complete the sweep.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1 p.m. CT on Wednesday, April 7, as the Blue Raiders travel to Pikeville (Ky.) in a rescheduled match in Pikeville, Ky.
