Box Score MOBILE, Ala. – The No. 11 seeded Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team continued their run at the NAIA National Championship with a 4-2 win over No. 6 Indiana Wesleyan.
The Blue Raiders fell behind early after dropping the doubles point, losing both the No. 1 and No. 3 double matches.
Jan Silhavy (No. 48-ranked) got the Blue Raiders on the board with their first point of the afternoon. He took down Stfano Di Aloy (No. 31) on a commanding 6-4, 6-1 result. Aleksa Ciric (No. 39) then gave LWC the lead with a 6-3, 6-3 win against Karl Wurth.
Indiana Wesleyan leveled the score in the No. 4 singles match when Eli Steiner took down Steven Espinoza 6-4, 6-4.
Tied at 2-2, Tiago Almeida picked up an important 6-4, 6-2 win over Isaac Steiner before Anatoliy Voloshyn picked up the decisive point with a 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 win against Diego Freire.
Camilo Erazo (No. 36) in the No. 1-seeded singles match against Martin Carrizo (No. 10) went unfinished after Lindsey Wilson picked up the match-winning point. The match went 7-6 (7-3), 2-6, 4-3 before being called.
With the win the Blue Raiders advance to tomorrow's quarterfinals as they are set to face No. 3-seeded Middle Georgia at 1 p.m. CT.
