Oldham leads Women's Basketball to Second Straight Conference Win

COLUMBIA, Ky. – Maleigha Oldham dropped 27 points to help propel the Lindsey Wilson women's basketball to a 69-58 win over Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) on Thursday evening at Biggers Sports Center. The victory marks the team's second-straight Mid-South Conference win.

After a competitive first half, the Blue Raiders took a two-point -- 30-28 – lead into the locker room. Lindsey Wilson exploded in the third quarter for 19 points, while locking down the defensive end of the floor after allowing just eight Lions points.

Lindsey Wilson was 8-of-13 from the floor in the third and made both of their three-point attempts. In the decisive 10 minutes of play, the Blue Raiders limited Freed-Hardeman to just three made baskets and a 20 percent shooting mark.

The Blue Raider maintained their lead in the fourth quarter – building it to a game-high of 15 points at the 8:45 mark – despite being outscored 22-20 in the final stanza.

Lindsey Wilson shot at a clip of 46.3 percent from the floor in the game while the Lions managed just a 34.5 mark thanks to a stifling LWC defensive effort. Lindsey Wilson forced Freed-Hardeman into 12 turnovers while collecting seven steals.

For the second straight contest, Lindsey Wilson made their living in the paint, outscoring Freed-Hardeman 32-18.

Oldham added five boards and two steals in the winning effort while Amelia Hodges finished the game with 16 points. Hailey Ison finished with 11 points and six boards while Bree Glover managed seven points and a game-high 12 rebounds.

Lindsey Wilson returns to Biggers Sports Center on Saturday when they take on Bethel (Tenn.) at 2 p.m. CT.
