COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's swim team picked up two wins this afternoon over Campbellsville (Ky.) and Asbury (Ky.) at the Holloway Natatorium. LWC defeated the Tigers 154-51 and the Eagles 153-51.
Will Thilwind, Reece Kincaid, Jose Angel Rivas, and Max van Schagen kicked off the meet with a win during the 200-yard medley relay. The pair raced their way to a time of one minute and 38.28 seconds.
Fabio Martin then claimed an individual first-place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle relay with a mark of 10:00.21. He went on to add a provision time of 4:50.25, and a first-place finish, during the 500-yard freestyle.
Rivas hit a provision standard during the 200-yard freestyle when he finished in second place with a time of 1:47.44. He then notched a second provision when he claimed first place in the 100-yard butterfly with a mark of 52.56 seconds.
Chase Hickman also competed in the event, finishing just behind in second, with a provisional time of 52.75 seconds.
Thilwind notched his provision standard during the 100-yard backstroke with his time of 53.15 seconds.
Van Schagen paced the field during the 50-yard freestyle, touching the wall with a first-place time of 22.10 seconds. James de Goede pushed the pace in the 200-yard IM as he crashed into the wall with a first-place time of 2:00.06.
De Goede, Azahn Hicks, Hickman, and Tyler King closed out the night with a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle. The quartet raced its way to a time of 1:28.74.
Lindsey Wilson returns to the pool on Nov. 5 when they welcome Campbellsville and Union (Ky.) to the Holloway Natatorium for a tri-dual at Noon CT.
