COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's swimming team managed six NAIA National Provisional Standards as they rolled to a 197-59 win over Shawnee State (Ohio.).
Azalia Gabdrakipova, Sara Motyl, Allie Rutherford, and Natascha Evrinoff teamed up for a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay as the pair touched the wall in one minute and 53.95 seconds. The pairing of Avery Herring Savannah Schoeman, Karolina Bidnik, and Alejandra Martinez later won the 200-yard freestyle relay with a mark of 1:45.64.
Motyl recorded two provisional times during the dual. She managed her first during the 100-yard breaststroke with a first-place time of 1:08.78. Motyl then added another national mark in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:31.69. She tallied her third individual first-place finish during the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:17.13.
Gabdrakipova also managed two provision standards. She recorded her first during the 100-yard backstroke with a first-place time of 1:01.25. Her second national standard came in the 200-yard backstroke. She touched the wall in first place with a time of 2:14.86.
Martinez produced a provisional standard during the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:02.90, which was good enough for first place. She managed her second first-place finish of the day when she touched the wall in 5:33.05 in the 500-yard freestyle.
Rutherford picked up her provisional mark during the 200-yard butterfly with a first-place finishing time of 2:17.41. She later added a first-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly when she touched the wall in 1:01.66.
Jaye Farthing claimed first in the 1,000-yard freestyle with her time of 12:04.94.
Lindsey Wilson returns to the pool on Oct. 21 when they host Asbury (Ky.) and Campbellsville (Ky.) at the Holloway Center Natatorium. The meet is set to start at 4 p.m. CT.
