Men's Swimming takes First Place at GA Small College Invite

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson men's swimming team claimed first place at the GA Small College Invite with 1,052 points. Thomas finished second with 515 points as South Georgia took third with 488.

Fabio Martin score the most points of any swimmer at the meet with 60 as James de Goede finished with the third most at 52. Daniel Wytwer broke the school record in the 200-yard butterfly.

Lindsey Wilson racked up 19 provisional standards and four first-place finishes. LWC also added a relay win on the day.

  • Malte Ahrens:
    • 1650-yard freestyle: Finals – 2nd place (16:20.67) Provisional Standard.
  • Tyler Harness:
    • 1650-yard freestyle: Finals – 8th place (17:46.72).

Rivas, King, Van Schagen, De Goede claimed first place in the 400-yard freestyle at 3:08.57.

Lindsey Wilson is back in the pool after the first of the year on Jan. 7 when they compete against Shawnee State (Ohio) and Bethel (Tenn.) at the Holloway Center Natatorium.
