Men's Swimming Downs Union and Campbellsville

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's swim team defeated Union (Ky.) 203-17 and Campbellsville (Ky.) 185-72 on Saturday afternoon at the Holloway Center Natatorium.

The win against Campbellsville is the third time this season the Blue Raiders have defeated their Highway 55 foe. Lindsey Wilson notched four provisional standards at the meet.

Will Thilwind, Jose Angel Rivas, Siaka Weidenbaum, and Max van Schagen teamed up in the 200-yard medley relay for first place with a time of one minute and 37.47 seconds.

Fabio Martin and Malte Ahrens each collected provision standards in the 1,650-yard freestyle. Martin finished in first with a time of 16:44.90 while Ahrens finished just behind in second with a time of 17:06.95. Thilwind claimed first place in the 100-yard backstroke with a provisional time of 53.07 seconds.

Reece Kincaid managed LWC's final provisional standard of the dual with a first-place pace of 4:22.58 in the 400-yard IM.

Rivas claimed first during the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:01.13 while Weidenbaum managed a first during the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:01.91. Tyler King touched the wall in first place with his time of 22.18 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle.

James de Goede claimed his first-place finish during the 100-yard freestyle with a mark of 48.79 seconds. Thilwind notched his second first-place finish of the afternoon in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:58.85.

Tyler Buffel continued the winning ways, clocking a first-place time of 2:20.71 during the 200-yard breaststroke. Chase Hickman picked up a first-place time of 52.36 during the 100-yard butterfly.

Lindsey Wilson closed out the meet with a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay. De Goede, Hickman, King, and Van Schagen raced their way to a time of 1:28.65.

Lindsey Wilson returns to the pool on Nov. 17-19 when they compete at the Georgia Small College Invite in Columbus, Georgia.
