Box Score LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- No. 4-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's tennis fell 4-0 to top-ranked Georgia Gwinnett today at the GGC Tennis Facility.
The match is the first of four over the weekend during the Grizzly Invitational.
The Blue Raiders (1-2) battled their hosts to the wire during doubles play.
Jan Silhavy and Aleksa Ciric took the first doubles match in the second-seeded match with a 6-2 win over Daniel Czepielewski and Matthias Haim.
The Grizzlies evened the doubles play with a win at the top-seeded match as Valentino Caratini and Agustin Tamagnone beat Santiago Diaz and Steven Espinoza 6-2.
With the doubles point on the line, Georgia Gwinnett's Vicente Lagos and Guilhem Perez Le Tiec outlasted Anatoliy Voloshyn and Joppe van Malderen 6-4 to give the Grizzlies the 1-0 lead entering singles play.
Georgia Gwinnett (7-0) won at No. 2, 4, and 6 singles to complete the win. The remaining matches were halted once the Grizzlies reached the necessary four points for the win.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 8 a.m. CT on Saturday against No. 17-ranked Montreat (N.C.) and No. 10-ranked Xavier (La.) at 4 p.m. CT on the second day of the Grizzly Invitational.
