Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson Women's Basketball team celebrated Senior Day with a 64-48 victory over the Life (Ga.) on Saturday afternoon at Biggers Sports Center.
Lindsey Wilson (14-14, 9-11) led by a strong defensive effort held Life (6-24, 2-20) to just 34.5 percent from the floor for the entire game. The Blue Raiders also forced 14 turnovers and scored 18 points off the Running Eagle miscues while shooting 41.9 percent for the game.
Bree Glover led the Blue Raiders with 16 points and 13 rebounds. It marked the senior forwards third straight game with a double-double. Two other Blue Raiders scored in double figures as Maleigha Oldham put up 13 points along with six rebounds and two assists while Hailey Ison added 12 points.
The first quarter was a dominant showing by Lindsey Wilson outscoring the Running Eagles 21-3. Oldham and Glover contributed 15 of the 21 total points in the quarter. The Blue Raider defense held the Running Eagles to shooting eight percent in the quarter. Lindsey Wilson never trailed in the game thanks to the dominant start as a back and forth second quarter saw Lindsey go into the break with a 17-point lead at halftime. Ison scored six of her total 13 points in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, Sydnie Hall contributed six points as Lindsey Wilson saw their lead grow to as many as 25 points, the highest of the game, as they took a 22-point lead heading to the fourth quarter. That lead was enough as Lindsey Wilson easily won their final game at home game of the season by a score of 64-48.
The Blue Raider Women's Basketball team finishes the regular season at 14-14 and 9-11 in Mid-South Conference play as they now head to Conference Tournament play.
Lindsey Wilson now waits for their opening round MSC tournament opponent which will be released later this evening by conference officials.
