Box Score 2 LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team defeated No. 14 Montreat 4-2 to open their day but then fell in the nightcap to No. 10 Xavier on a 4-1 result on the second day of the Grizzly Invite.

Lindsey Wilson dropped the double point despite Jan Silhavy and Aleksa Ciric downing Luigi Moretti and Nicolas Lopez to open play in the No. 2 doubles match. Montreat then stole the final two doubles matches as the No. 3 pairing of Joppe van Malderen and Anatoliy Voloshyn fell to Marcos Castares and Denilson Martinez 7-5 and Santiago Diaz and Steven Espinoza fell to No. 14-ranked Anour Braham and Ryan Little 6-2.
No. 33-ranked Ciric picked up the Blue Raiders first win with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Marcos Castares in the No. 3 singles match. Montreat pushed their advantage to 2-1 when Braham took down Torrealba on a 6-0, 7-5 result.
Lindsey Wilson then rattled off three straight wins to claim the victory. No. 13 Silhavy defeated Denilson Martinez 6-1, 7-6 (7-0) at No. 2 singles while Almeida made quick work of Little 6-2, 6-4. Voloshyn clinched the match with his 7-6 (8-6), 6-1 win over Lopez at No. 6 singles action.
The No. 1 singles match went unfinished between Malderen Moretti, being halted at 7-6 (7-5), 2-2.

The Blue Raiders claimed just one win in their final match of the day. It came in singles play when Ciric took down Magh Patel 6-3, 6-1.
Xavier claimed the doubles point after Magh Patel and Jacobi Bain defeated Almeida and Espinoza 6-4 and Santiago Perez and Juan David Ramirez took down Silhavy and Ciric 6-2. The final doubles match went unfinished with Voloshyn and Malderen trailing Dedric Ray and Guillermo Coiras 5-2.
Malderen fell in the No. 1 singles match against No. 17 Perez 6-3, 6-3 as Torrealba fell to Bain 6-2, 6-1. Voloshyn fell in the No. 6 singles match 6-1, 6-2.
Almeida and Silhavy's matches went unfinished as Almeida led in his match and Silhavy was trailing.
Lindsey Wilson returns to the court tomorrow at Noon CT when they take on Bluefield State in their final matchup of the Grizzly Classic.
