Box Score LEBANON, Tenn. - The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team snapped a short two-game losing streak after taking down Cumberland (Tenn.) 83-75.
In total five Blue Raiders finished scoring in double figures. Amelia Hodges and Maleigha Oldham tied with a team-high 19 points in the game. Sydnie Hall added 16 points and four rebounds as Bree Glover almost secured a double-double with 11 points and eight rebounds. Jordyn Stephens scored 10 points with a tie for the team lead in assists with four. Hailey Ison added eight points with four assists.
Lindsey Wilson (13-10, 8-7 MSC) finished the game shooting 55.1 percent from the floor including a 13-of-20 mark from three shooting 65.0 percent.
Turnovers were abundant in the Blue Raiders win as both teams combined for 26 with the Blue Raiders tallying 11. Lindsey Wilson took advantage scoring 14 points off turnovers while the Phoenix only scored five.
Lindsey Wilson started hot with a 20-8 run to start the game but the Phoenix went on a 12-6 run to end the first quarter down by six. The Blue Raiders watched their lead disappear in the second quarter as Cumberland tied the game going into halftime.
In the third quarter it was a low-scoring defensive battle with both teams only putting up 14 points, Glover led in the third for the Blue Raiders with four points. In the fourth quarter is when the Blue Raiders pulled away outscoring the Phoenix 25 to 17. Hall scored six of her 16 total points with two early three-point baskets in the quarter to help Lindsey pull away late and secure the victory.
Lindsey Wilson is back in action on Thursday when they go on the road to face Pikeville (Ky.). Tipoff is slated for 5:00 p.m. CT.
