SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team finished in 10th place at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate tournament where they carded a 622 (314-308) over two days of action. The event featured 13 programs, with most teams hailing from the NCAA ranks.
The event was played at Sevierville Golf Club, the Highlands Course, a par-71, 5,803-yard design.
Lindsey Wilson averaged a 5.16 scoring average on par 5's with was the fourth-best mark at the event. LWC clocked 94 pars and 16 birdies for the championship.
Malene Clausen turned in a 14th place finish with a 151 (75-76). She played the par-3's the second-best in the field at one-over with a 3.08 scoring average. She played the par-5's at 1-under par which was the second fourth best.
Katie Biddlecombe finished just behind in 17th place with a 153 (78-75). She played the par-4's at just two over par. Claire McLaughlin posted a 30th place finish following a 165 (78-78). She played best on the par-5's, playing the holes at one-under-par.
Zofia Wojcik took 51st as she posted a score of 162 (83-79). Wojcik posted 20 pars for the event which was tied for the most by an LWC golfer with Clausen and Biddlecombe.
Hannah Sumner was the final Blue Raider in action, posting a 164 (85-79) to take 55th place.
Findlay (Ohio) won the event with a 593 (294-299) as North Alabama's Jahnavi Prakhya and Findlay's Gabby Woods tied for first place after both posted four-over-par marks of 146 (72-74).
The event was originally scheduled for three days and 54-holes beginning on Sunday but the winter weather that hit the area forced the event to trim the schedule to a two-day, 36-hole championship.
Lindsey Wilson is back in action on Saturday and Sunday when they host the Blue Raider Spring Invitational at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson.
