COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team swept the afternoon, defeating IU East 7-0 at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex on Thursday afternoon.

The No. 3 doubles pairing of Joppe van Malderen and Tiago Almeida opened doubles play with a 6-1 win over Moises Sosa and Moises Goncalves as Aleksa Ciric and Jan Silhavy took down Francisco Faundez and Adrian Martinez 6-3 at No. 2 doubles to claim the doubles point for LWC.

Anatoliy Voloshyn and Nicolas Torrealba took on Thorben Waldburger and Kyle Hollingsworth in the top-seeded match, winning 6-2.

Fortieth ranked Ciric claimed the first of six straight singles wins for the Blue Raiders in the top-seeded match with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Faundez. van Malderen then made quick work of Matthew Nel 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.

No. 18-ranked Silhavy captured the decisive point for LWC when he downed Martinez 6-2, 6-1, giving LWC their sixth straight win.

Torrealba (LWCM) defeated Sosa 6-0, 6-1 as No. 33 Almeida took down Goncalves 6-1, 6-1. Voloshyn closed out the match with a win over Sebastain Torrealba 6-1, 6-2.

Lindsey Wilson is set to host Pikeville (Ky.) on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
