GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team slid one spot during the final round to finish in third place at the Carey Collegiate Classic. The Blue Raiders posted a 938 (312-308-318) across three rounds of play.

Key to the Blue Raiders success was low scoring from Malene Clausen and Hannah Sumner who finished in third and seventh place respectively. The pair have combined for 16 birdies as both managed eight across their 54-holes.

The event was held at the Gulf Shores Golf Club a Par-72, 5,895-yard design. Lindsey Wilson managed the fourth-best mark in scoring on par-3s (3.37) and par-4s (4.43) with the second-best mark on par-5s (5.25) adding the most birdies in the field with 29.

Clausen took home her sixth top-5 finish of the season after scoring a 229 (74-79-79). She made use of par-3 and par-4 scoring with the second-best mark of 4.21 on par-4s and the fourth-best average on par-3s at 3.20.

Sumner played consistent golf, scoring 152 (76-76-80). She played the par-5s the best in the field at 1-over-par. The seventh-place finish is the highest finish of her career and marks just the second time she has cracked the top-10 at an event.

Katie Biddlecombe just missed the top-10, closing out her run in a tie for 13th place. She posted a 239 (81-77-81).

Claire McLaughlin and Zofia Wojcik finished in ties for 23rd and 27th, respectively. McLaughlin posted a 244 (81-82-81) as Wojcik managed a 245 (88-76-81).

Southeastern (Fla.) won the event after posting a 917 (313-304-300) as Loyola (Mo.) took second by two strokes over LWC following a 936 (317-307-310). Danielle Owens of Southeastern won the individual title with a 5-over-par mark of 221 (77-73-71).

Lindsey Wilson returns to play on April 11-12 when they compete at the Mid-South Conference Spring Championship in Crossville, Tennessee at Bear Trace Cumberland Mountain Golf Course.
