Men's Tennis Sweeps Georgetown on Senior Day

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team claimed their sixth clean sweep of the season with a 7-0 win over Georgetown in Mid-South Conference action at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex. The win marks the 14th straight for the Blue Raiders, a streak that dates back to February 20th.

Lindsey Wilson rolled to three doubles wins. The top-seeded pairing of Nicolas Torrealba and Steven Espinoza defeated Cole Wilson and Parker Clark 6-3. Aleksa Ciric and Jan Silhavy then rolled to a 6-4 win in the No. 2 doubles match against Zach White and Logan Smallwood. The win secured the doubles point.

Tiago Almeida and Joppe van Malderen won the final doubles match with a 6-2 win over Tsugunosuke Hirose and Matthew Thomas.

Silhavy opened singles play with the first win, defeating Wilson 6-2, 6-3 in the second-seeded match. Van Malderen won the No. 3 singles match over Clark on a 6-1, 6-4 score. Ciric clinched the match in the top-seeded tilt with a 7-6, 6-0 victory over Wilson.

Torrealba rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 win over Smallwood, Almeida defeated Taylors 6-2, 6-2 as Voloshyn closed out the sweep with a 6-4, 6-3 win against Hirose.

Lindsey Wilson is back on the courts on Friday when they travel to Campbellsville (Ky.).
