Box Score McKENZIE, Tenn. -- Lindsey Wilson men's tennis concluded its West Tennessee road swing with a 6-1 win over host Bethel (Tenn.) on Sunday.
The ninth-ranked Blue Raiders improve to 14-3 overall while remaining unbeaten in Mid-South Conference play (8-0). Lindsey Wilson leads the MSC with two matches remaining in the conference regular season.
The Blue Raiders secured the doubles point with a pair of 6-0 wins.
Joppe van Malderen and Tiago Almeida opened the proceedings with a sweep of Joao Andre and Jeffrey Lee in the third-seeded match. Aleksa Ciric and Jan Silhavy duplicated the effort on court two with a 6-0 win over Juan David Hernandez and Marcos Neves.
With the win, Lindsey Wilson took the 1-0 team lead.
Nicolas Torrealba and Steven Espinoza capped doubles play with a 6-3 win over D'Avial Vecchi and Pedro Bonato Donadon in the top-seeded match.
The Blue Raiders won five of the six singles matches, all coming by straight sets.
Van Malderen opened singles with a win after Andre retired from the match on court three. Van Malderen was leading at the time of the retirement 6-0, 2-0. Silhavy extended the Lindsey Wilson lead to 3-0 with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Hernandez in the second-seeded match.
Van Malderen won his seventh straight singles match of the season while Silhavy ran his winning streak to eight.
Ciric secured the team win in the top-seeded match. He beat Neves 6-1, 6-2 to improve to 14-0 in singles play this season.
Almeida and Anatoliy Voloshyn also picked up straight-set wins on courts five and six, respectively.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1 p.m. CT on Tuesday, April 5, as the Blue Raiders travel to No. 10-ranked Union (Ky.) in Barbourville, Ky.
