Women's Swimming Finishes in Second at Fall Frenzy

COLUMBIA, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson women's swim team finished in second place in the ninth annual Fall Frenzy recording 1,066.5 points across the two day competition. Indiana Wesleyan finished in first place with 1,509.5 points.

Lindsey Wilson opened with a second place finish in the 200-yard medley relay with Azalia Gabdrakipova, Sara Motyl, Allie Rutherford, and Natascha Evrinoff recording a time of one minute and 54.16 seconds.

Jordyn Minifie finished in third place in the 400-yard IM touching the wall with a time of 4:54.80. Evrinoff claimed first while Rutherford finished second in the 100-yard butterfly. Evreinoff's time of 1:01.39 was a provisional standard, as Rutherford finished in 1:02.00.

Alejandra Martinez finished first in the 200-yard freestyle crashing into the wall at 2:03.56. Sara Motyl finished in first with a time of 1:11.22 in the 100-yard breaststroke while Rutherford finished second at 1:13.73.

Gabdrakipova hit a provisional standard in the 100-yard backstroke with a second place time of 1:01.90. Annissa Koekemoer finished just behind in third place with a mark of 1:04.63.

The pairing of Evrinoff, Minifie, Avery Herring, and Martinez finished in second place with a time of 8:22.12 in the 800-yard freestyle relay.

Martinez hit a provisional standard in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 19:02.84. Gabdrakipova also hit a provisional standard, doing so in the 200-yard backstroke with her time of 2:10.87.

Motyl hit a provisional standard in the 200-yard breaststroke at a time of 2:31.87 coming in first place, while Maria Paula Escandon Lopez finished third at 2:39.61.

Rutherford managed the final provisional time of the meet in first place of the 200-yard butterfly at 2:16.98. Evrinoff, Koekemoer, Savannah Schoeman, Martinez paired up to finish second in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:47.71.

The Lindsey Wilson women's swim team will be back in action at the Holloway Center Natatorium as they take on Midway (Ky.) on Oct. 1 at 12 p.m. CT.
