COLUMBIA, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team fell to top-ranked Thomas More (Ky.) 70-56 in their return home to Biggers Sports Center on Saturday afternoon.

Three Blue Raiders in Lucy Patterson, Jordyn Stephens, and Amelia Hodges finished in double figures with Patterson leading Lindsey Wilson, ending the contest with 17 points adding on a game-high eight rebounds.

Lindsey Wilson got off to a slow start, as they fell behind 21-14 in the opening 10 minutes trailing by as much as nine points.

LWC used the second quarter to cut into the Saints lead, eventually tying the contest at 28 all with 3:26 left in the second from a Stephens and-1. The Blue Raiders outscored Thomas More in the second frame 14-11 but the contest still saw the Saints in the lead with a score of 32-28 after 20 minutes of play.

Thomas More came out of the break to the tune of two straight three-point baskets snowballing into a 17-8 run in the third quarter. The Blue Raiders could not find an answer, pinning the contest at 49-36 with the final quarter to be played.

The Saints maintained the lead the rest of the way, with the deficit created in the third frame too much for Lindsey Wilson to mount. The Blue Raiders kept fighting, showing the fourth quarter box score be almost even at 21-20 in favor of the Saints.

Thomas More would go on to win the contest 70-56.

The Saints finished at a mark of 50% from the floor with the Blue Raiders slightly behind shooting 44.4% in the game.

The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team heads to Henderson, Tenn. to take on Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) at Brewer Sports Center on Jan. 12 at 5:30 p.m. CT.
