Women’s Basketball to Face Indiana Southeast and Pikeville This Week

COLUMBIA, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team will be facing two familiar foes this week, starting at home with Indiana Southeast at 6 p.m. on Thursday, and will be visiting Pikeville for a Saturday matchup. The Blue Raiders are coming off a split at the Bethel University Classic, where they defeated Harris-Stowe 78-53 and fell to Bellevue (Neb.) 74-83.

The Blue Raiders are 9-3 so far this season, and are led by point leaders Amelia Hodges with 151, Lucy Patterson with 141, and Taylor Guess with 124. Patterson also leads in rebounds this season with 90, followed by Jarie Thomas with 64. Hodges, Patterson and Sydnie Hall lead in assists with 40, 28, and 20 and Thomas leads in blocks with 14. Leading in steals is Patterson with 17, and Thomas and Janiya Davis with 13. The last time Lindsey Wilson faced Indiana Southeast was in their season opener on October 31, where the Blue Raiders won 107-70. The last time the Blue Raiders faced Pikeville was on February 9, 2023, where the Bears came out on top with a score of 43-55. 

Indiana Southeast is currently 3-5 overall and 2-2 in conference play, and are coming off a 77-67 win against IU Kokomo. Currently leading the team in points are Karly Sweeney with 100 and Leah Miller with 90. Linzie Wernert is leading in rebounds with 32, followed by Katie Durbin and Sweeney who each have 25. Miller and Jesse Ledgerwood are assist leaders with 21 and 17, Durbin leads in blocks with 3 and Sweeney and Miller lead in steals with 20 and 15. 

Pikeville is sitting with a 9-2 record overall and 7-2 in conference play so far this season, and are coming off a 89-51 victory over Bluefield on Tuesday. Sophomore Allie Stone leads the Bears in points with 216, and Morgan Stamper leads in rebounds with 150. Stone also leads in assists with 26, followed by Katie Collopy with 23 and Stamper with 22. Rachel Bush leads the team in blocks with 21, and Bailey Frazier leads in steals with 25. 

Thursday's game against Indiana Southeast will be broadcasted live on the Lindsey Wilson Sports Network, and Saturday's game against Pikeville will be broadcasted live on the UPike Sports Network
