Women's Basketball to Welcome Alice Lloyd for 2023 Finale

12/28/2023 11:00:00 AM

COLUMBIA, Ky. – A week since one of its largest victories in program history, the Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team returns from break on Friday afternoon to host Alice Lloyd College (Ky.).

The Blue Raiders and the Eagles met earlier this season in Pippa Passes on November 17 where the home team held on for an 85-79 victory. Since then, Lindsey Wilson is 7-2 while Alice Lloyd has lost two of its last three.

At home this season, the Blue Raiders have dominated opponents by a plus-33.8 scoring margin. Behind last week's stellar shooting performance against Campbellsville-Harrodsburg (Ky.), Lindsey Wilson is shooting 50.6 percent from the floor at Biggers Sports Center, a full 17.7 percent better than its visitors.

Lucy Patterson is averaging 14.2 points and 9.2 rebounds across six home games. The junior's .633 field goal percentage is coupled with a .821 mark from the free throw line. She is aided on offense by Amelia Hodges, who despite missing the team's last game, is still posting 11.6 points and 3.6 assists in five starts at Biggers.

For Alice Lloyd, senior Hannah Kash paces the Eagles with the River States Conference's second-highest scoring average of 23.6. Kash does most of her damage from behind the arc where she boasts the league's number one three-point field goal percentage. In the early season match-up, Kash tallied a game-high 19 points and chipped in six rebounds and five assists.

The Eagles' win in November was only the fourth all-time against the Blue Raiders and the first in Pippa Passes. In Columbia, Lindsey Wilson is 6-3 and will look to maintain its unblemished 2023-24 home record when Alice Lloyd comes to town for a 2 p.m. CST tip-off.
