LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team was defeated by No. 2 Georgia Gwinnett, 4-0, in the first match of the Grizzly Invitational at GGC Tennis Facility on Friday afternoon.

In the doubles matches, Firas Ben Chouikha and Ilyas Kouchairi were downed by Alex Gurmendi and Dhakshineswar Suresh, 6-0, in the No. 1 match. Georgia Gwinnett then collected the doubles point seeing Jose Dugo and Leonardo Sprovieri best Anatoliy Voloshyn and Jan Silhavy, 6-2.

In singles play, Joaquin Mersch was defeated, 6-1, 6-2, by Suresh. The No. 4 singles match between Voloshyn and Sprovieri finished 6-2, 6-3, leaving it down to the No. 6 match. Charly Zick toppled Lucas Marques, 6-0, 6-2, giving the Grizzlies the 4-0 win.

The No. 1, 3, and 5 singles matches all went unfinished as Georgia Gwinnett had already secured the victory.

The Blue Raiders will now face (RV) St. Thomas (Fla.) at Noon CT, continuing the Grizzly Invitational at GGC Tennis Facility.
