Box Score LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team collected their second victory on the season, as they took down (RV) St. Thomas, 4-3, on Saturday afternoon at GCC Tennis Facility.
In the doubles matches, the No. 2 match finished first showing Anatoliy Voloshyn and Jan Silhavy defeating Maximiliano Rozas and Bernardo Tajada, 6-4. Raul Safont and Carlos Vidal toppled Firas Ben Chouikha and Ilyas Coichari, 7-5, leaving it all up to the No. 3 doubles match. Tiago Almeida and Lucas Marques downed Oliver Andersson and Jakub Federowicz, 7-6 (7-1), in a highly contested battle, giving the Blue Raiders the doubles point.
In singles play, Marques fell to Federowicz, 6-2, 6-2, as Andersson defeated Joaquin Mersch, 6-1, 6-1, giving the Bobcats a 2-1 lead in the match. Vidal downed Sebastian Junqhanns, 6-2, 6-3, sitting St. Thomas one point away from victory. Almeida defeated Rozas, 6-2, 2-6, 6-1, as Silhavy beat Safont 6-4, 6-4, tying the match at three apiece and leaving the match to the No. 2 singles game. Chouikha conquered Tajada, 2-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-2, giving Lindsey Wilson the 4-3 victory.
The Blue Raiders will now turn their attention to No. 5 Xavier (La.), taking them on at 9 a.m. CT, finishing the final leg of the Grizzly Invitational.
