COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's swimming team keeps the third place spot at the Mid-South Conference Championship after the second day of competition at the Kingsport Aquatic Center. The Blue Raiders racked up five All-MSC honors with one first and four third-place finishes.
Jordyn Minifie went on to set a program record in the 400-yard individual medley with a provisional standard time of 4:37.48 as she placed third in the finals. Julia Secanell and Avery Herring finished second and third in their respective B-Final Grouping.
Sara Motyl picked up another All-MSC honor on the day after a first place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke. The freshman raced her way to a time of 1:06.57 seconds in the breaststroke for a provisional standard.
Motyl, Azalia Gabdrakipova, Natascha Evrinoff, and Annissa Koekemoer all placed third in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:48.70. Gabdrakipova and Evrinoff then went on to team up with Secanell and Alejandra Martinez in the 800-yard freestyle relay to reach the wall third in a time 8:00.45 seconds
Evrinoff also competed in the 100-yard butterfly where she made it to the wall in a time of 58.44 to claim her all-conference honors. Allie Rutherford followed right behind Evrinoff in fifth with a provisional standard time of 58.88 seconds.
Gabdrakipova just missed the podium in the 100-yard backstroke after finishing in fourth with a time of 58.57.
Lindsey Wilson secured third place with 337 points throughout the first two days of competition. Cumberlands (Ky.) leads with 660 points as Indiana Wesleyan follows in second with 552 points
The Blue Raiders return to the pool tomorrow morning for the final day of action at the Mid-South Conference Championship.
