COLUMBIA, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team conquered Bethel (Tenn.), 7-0, notching their first conference win at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex on Thursday afternoon.

In the doubles matches, Firas Ben Chouikha and Santiago Diaz defeated Pedro Donadon and  Arthur Trigno, 6-1, as Tiago Almeida and Ilyas Kouchairi toppled Juan Hernandez and Leonel Caspe, 6-2, giving the Blue Raiders the doubles point. Jan Silhavy and Anatoliy Voloshyn downed Pedro Vecchi and Renato Gravina, 6-4, showing Lindsey Wilson sweep the doubles matches.

In the singles portion, No. 20-ranked Silhavy defeated Donadon, 6-1, 6-1, leading to Chouikha downing Hernandez, 6-1, 7-5. No. 48-ranked Almeida then stepped onto court one and dominated Marcos Neves, 6-1, 6-0, giving the Blue Raiders the 4-0 win. The two squads would go on to finish out the rest of the matches with Kouchairi winning a thrilling battle against Vecchi, 3-6, 7-6 (8), 10-4, Lucas Marques defeating Trigno, 6-1, 6-1, and finally Voloshyn rounding out the afternoon with a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Caspe.

The Blue Raiders will be back in action tomorrow at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex where they will take on Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) at 2 p.m. CT.
