Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team defeated Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) in a resounding 7-0 victory on Friday evening at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
In the doubles matches, Tiago Almeida and Ilyas Kouchairi made quick work of Nolan Laduree and Caden Arnold, downing them 6-0, as Jan Silhavy and Anatoliy Voloshyn defeated Merlin Bolema and Maxine Guyon, 6-1. Firas Ben Chouikha and Santiago Diaz found themselves down 4-1, then staged a ferocious comeback to win five straight points and sweep the doubles matches with a 6-4 win over Aleksa Pesic and Theo Devals.
In the singles portion of the contest, No. 48-ranked Almeida blanked Guyon, 6-0. 6-0, as the No. 20-ranked Silhavy, downed Bolema, 6-0, 6-2. Ben Chouikha then etched the win for the Blue Raiders as he defeated Pesic 6-3, 6-0. Both squads completed all scheduled matches with Voloshyn downing Devals, 6-0, 6-3, as Lucas Marques toppled Arnold, 6-2, 6-1, leading into the final match of the evening where Kouchairi downed Laduree, 6-4, 6-4, giving Lindsey Wilson the 7-0 victory.
The Blue Raiders will be back on the court when they take on Georgetown (Ky.) at Lackey Tennis Center at 1 p.m. CT.
