Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team roared past (RV) Campbellsville (Ky.), 4-3, winning the Battle of Highway 55 in intense fashion on Thursday afternoon at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
In the doubles matches, Nicolas Andrade and Nahuel Hernando downed Firas Ben Chouikha and Santiago Diaz, 6-3, as the duo of Hernan Toledo and Sebastian Toledo defeated Jan Silhavy and Lucas Marques, 6-4, giving the Tigers the doubles point. The Blue Raiders did notch a victory in the No. 3 match as Tiago Almeida and Ilyas Kouchairi bested Maximiliano Roman and Lucas LeDorze-Guielbaud, 7-5.
In the singles portion of the match, Andrade downed Kouchairi, 6-0, 7-5, as No. 20-ranked Silhavy got the first point of the day for Lindsey Wilson when he bested Roman, 7-6 (7-4), 6-3, leading into No. 48-ranked Almeida defeating H. Toledo 7-6 (7-3), 6-3, and evening the match at two all. Anatoliy Voloshyn then dominated I. Toledo, 6-3, 6-1, putting Lindsey Wilson one point away from the victory. Marques downed LeDorze-Guielbaud, 6-0, 6-3, giving the Blue Raiders the rivalry win. Hernando then defeated a hurt Diaz, 3-6, 6-1, 6-2, having the scorebook show Lindsey Wilson with the 4-3 win over Campbellsville.
The Blue Raiders will be back on the courts when they take on Thomas More (Ky.) on Mar. 30 at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
