WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson archery team posted a second-place finish at the Mid-South Conference Outdoor Archery Championship Saturday at the UC All-Purpose Field.
The Blue Raiders totaled 135 points to finish second. Lindsey Wilson earned 16 total medals with four gold, four silver and eight bronze. Cumberlands won the championship with 225 points.
Lindsey Wilson finished third in the overall season standings which included the 3D and Indoor Championships as well. Cumberlands finished first overall in the team standings after winning all three events. Pikeville finished second in the standings.
Following the conclusion of the event, the MSC All-Conference teams and honors were announced. Austin Taylor was named the MSC Men's Shooter of the Year. Taylor also earned First Team honors in men's compound. T. Sanchez, Wyatt Burtts and Anna Krampe also earned First Team recognition.
Britney McCarthy earned Second Team All-Conference honors.
Sanchez took gold in men's recurve defeating Cumberlands' Clay Weaver 6-4. In men's compound, Taylor defeated Union's Lane Brandt 147-145 to earn gold. Krampe, Jessica Heady and Madeline McGuire teamed up to win gold in women's fixed pins team. In men's barebow team, Jacob Cook, Nathaniel Bush and Sean Neal finished first.
Chondanni Mckenna-Vega finished runner-up in women's barebow. Burtts earned silver in men's fixed pins. The Blue Raiders earned silver in men's recurve team and in mixed barebow.
The Blue Raiders earned bronze medals in men's barebow, men's fixed pins, women's fixed pins, women's recurve team, men's fixed pins team, women's barebow team, mixed recurve and mixed fixed pins.
