STATESBORO, Ga. - The Lindsey Wilson archery team competed on the first day of the USA Archery Collegiate Target Nationals on Friday.
Friday consisted of individual qualifying rounds. Elimination rounds will take place on Saturday along with the team rounds
On the women's side, Sophia Hunziger posted a third-place mark in the women's fixed pins with a score of 655. Britney McCarthy qualified fourth in the barebow with a score of 523 while Madison Hart was 10th in recurve posting a score of 675. Sarah McCarthy was 13th in barebow with a 481 while Anna Krampe was 13th in fixed pins with a 625.
Chondani McKenna-Vega and Morgan Wilson were 14th and 15th in fixed pins with scores of 476 and 473, respectively. Layla Blevins was 17th in recurve, Audrey Mills finished 20th in fixed pins with a score of 608.
Austin Taylor posted the second-best score in the men's compound with a score of 705. Lyle Uhrich posted a 681 for the second-best qualifying score in fixed pins with a 681. Jacob Cook was third in barebow with a score of 586.
Seth Pipes posted a score of 691 to place 10th in compound, Gus Burtts was 11th in fixed pins with 667, T Sanchez was 13th in recurve with a 599 and Nathaniel Bush was 17th in barebow with a 480.
Following the qualifying rounds, the teams for Saturday were determined. In men's recurve, Sanchez, Christian Blair and Hunter Reading will team up and are the No. 3 seed. Taylor, Pipes and Bronson Ormes are teaming up in men's compound as the No. 4 seed. Cook, Bush and Sean Neal will team up in men's barebow as the No. 2 seed. Uhrich, Burtts and Matthew Roberson will be the No. 3 seed in fixed pins.
Blevins, Ryli Valliere and Audrey Routte are the No. 8 seed in women's recurve team. Hart, Alea Boyd and Olivia Poston are the No. 7 seed in women's compound, Britney McCarthy, Sarah McCarthy and McKenna-Vega are seeded second in women's barebow. Hunziger, Krampe and Mills are seeded second in women's fixed pins.
