STATESBORO, Ga. - The Lindsey Wilson archery team wrapped up competition at the USA Archery Collegiate Target Nationals Sunday with a third-place finish.
Following the conclusion of the championship, the USA Archery All-American teams and individual Shooters of the Year were announced. Austin Taylor was named the Shooter of the Year in the Men's Compound division.
Seven Blue Raiders earned All-American based on their performances in the three national events this season. Austin Taylor (men's compound), T Sanchez (men's recurve), Jacob Cook (men's barebow), Lyle Uhrich (men's fixed pins), Britney McCarthy (women's barebow), Sophia Hunziger (women's fixed pins) and Anna Krampe (women's fixed pins) all earned All-American honors.
Lindsey Wilson tallied 81 points to finish third and recorded seven podium finishes over the three-day event. Britney McCarthy earned gold in the women's barebow. McCarthy defeated MSU Denver's Sierra Nation 6-5. The two were tied at the end of play they then went to a one arrow 50-meter shoot off. McCarthy and Nation were tied after the first arrow. After Nation hit an eight, McCarthy hit a 10 to win the gold medal.
The Blue Raiders earned two podium finishes in the mixed team rounds on Sunday. Cook and McCarthy finished runner-up in mixed barebow while Taylor and Madison Hart finished third in mixed compound.
