WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson archery team opened their 2023 campaign on Friday at the USA Archery 3D Regional Championships where four Blue Raiders earned podium finishes.
T Sanchez highlighted the Blue Raiders in action as he claimed first place in men's recurve. Sanchez edged out the runner-up by two points with a 422. He scored 210 in the first round and then scored 212 in round two.
Austin Taylor posted a runner-up finish in men's compound with a score of 452. Taylor scored 230 in round one and 222 in the second round.
In women's barebow, Morgan Wilson finished third with a score of 332. Augustus Burtts placed third in men's fixed pins tallying 432.
Following the regionals, the teams for tomorrow's Mid-South Conference 3D championship were determined. In women's fixed pins, Madalynn Puryear, Audrey Mills and Madeline McGuire team up. Teaming up in women's barebow are Wilson, Britney McCarthy, and Anastacia Godman. Ryli Valliere, Layla Blevins, and Carlee Drury will team up in women's recurve. In women's compound, Olivia Poston, Emma Kist, and Alea Boyd will team up.
On the men's side, Agustus Burtts, Wyatt Burtts, and Thomas Ramsey will team up in fixed pins. Jacob Cook, Sean Neal and LaQuann Williams are teaming up in men's barebow. Sanchez, Zach Jackson, and Christian Blair are teaming up in men's recurve. Taylor, Bo Pipes, and Bronson Ormes will compete in the men's compound team.
Mills and Augustus Burrts will team up in mixed fixed pins, Wilson and Cook are teaming up in mixed barebow, Valliere and Sanchez team up in mixed recurve and Poston and Taylor compete in mixed compound.
The MSC Championship gets underway Saturday morning at Cumberlands.
