COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team captured the Blue Raider Fall Classic title on Monday at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson.
The Blue Raiders shot a 61-over par 925 (308-308-309) on the par-72 5,864 yard course. Lindsey Wilson edged out runner-up Northwestern Ohio by four shots. The Blue Raiders finished the three rounds posting the best score on par 5s going 10 over. Lindsey Wilson also carded the most eagles with two.
Hannah Sumner posted the best Lindsey Wilson finish coming in third with an 11-over par 227 (76-76-75). Sumner carded the second-most birdies with seven and also had an eagle. Kayla Saunders who was competing as an individual moved up eight spots in the final round to finish fourth with a 229 (79-79-71). Saunders' 71 was the lowest round of any Blue Raider over the three rounds. Lauren Holeman finished fifth with a 230 (73-78-79) while Megan Mann tied for sixth with a 231 (77-79-75). Tara Laverty and Paige Gray who competed as an individual tied for 12th. Laverty (82-75-82) and Gray (82-75-82) each carded a 239. Zofia Wojcik rounds out the team scoring for the Blue Raiders with a 244 (83-81-80) in 17th.
Kendall Hacker and Emilee Cook also competed as individuals. Hacker finished 26th with a 276 (91-92-93) and Cook finished 31st with a 341.
The Blue Raiders are back in action for the Carey Collegiate Oct. 2-3.
