COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's swimming team sits in second following the first session of the Dr. Dillery Fall Frenzy Friday.
The Blue Raiders totaled 313 points and are behind Indiana Wesleyan who has 418.50 points to lead. Aquinas is third with 168 points, Campbellsville is fourth with 94 points, WVU Tech and Bethel round out the team standings with 19.50 and 12 points, respectively.
Lindsey Wilson got day one started with a victory in the 200-yard freestyle. Azaliia Gabdrakipova, Natascha Evreinoff, Natalia Gorska and Maaike Broersma touched the wall in 1:41.34 for the victory. Savannah Schoeman, Julia Secanell, Karolina Bidnik and Hannah Woyscheszik finished fifth in 1:47.30.
Schoemann posted the best Blue Raider finish in the 500-yard freestyle coming on sixth with a time of 5:40.33. Alejandra Martinez finished 10th in 5:45.47 while Avery Herring placed 11th with a time of 5:46.07.
Lindsey Wilson finished third and fourth in the 200-yard individual medley. Jordyn Minnifie finished third in 2:18.85 while Sara Motyl was fourth with a time of 2:20.01.
The Blue Raiders took first and second in the 50-yard freestyle with a pair provisional standards. Broersma touched the wall in 24.51 to give Lindsey Wilson its second win of the night while Gorska finished runner-up in 24.69.
Broersma, Motyl, Evreinoff and Gorska closed out the session for Lindsey Wilson with a victory in the 400-yard medley relay. The quartet touched the wall in 4:02.73 for the victory. Gabdrakipova, Secanell, Karolina Bidnik and Schoeman finished sixth with a time of 4:23.11.
Lindsey Wilson closes out action at the Dr. Dillery Fall Frenzy tomorrow when they compete in session two at 9 a.m. CT and session three at 3:30 p.m. CT.
