PULASKI, Tenn. - The Lindsey Wilson women's swim team competed at Tennessee Southern on Friday. The Blue Raiders came out on top against the Firehawks, winning in every event.
Lindsey Wilson finished with 182 points, while Tennessee Southern finished with 37. Four Blue Raiders met NAIA provisional standards times in their races.
Senior Maaike Broersma came away with three individual first place finishes that met NAIA provisional standards. In the 100 meter backstroke, Broersma finished with a time of 1:06.43, as well as in the 200 meter backstroke with a time of 2:32.09. In the 100 meter butterfly, Broersma finished with a time of 1:06.80.
Senior Allie Rutherford placed first in the 200 meter butterfly, finishing with a provisional time of 2:32.09. In the 100 meter backstroke, Natalia Gorska finished in second with a provisional time of 1:09.25, and in the 400 meter IM, senior Jordyn Minifie completed her race in 5:31:02, also meeting provisional standards.
The Lindsey Wilson women's swim team will be competing again next Saturday, January 20, as they host the Highway 55 Last Chance Invitational. The meet is set to begin at 9 a.m. at the Holloway Health and Wellness Center.
