MADISONVILLE, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson archery team finished runner-up at the Mid-South Conference Indoor Archery Championship Sunday at the Western Kentucky Archery Complex.
The Blue Raiders tallied 133 points to finish second and posted 15 podium finishes. Lindsey Wilson captured two gold medals, 10 silver medals and three bronze medals.
T Sanchez captured gold in the men's recurve. Sanchez was the top seed after posting the highest qualifying score on Friday. He defeated Pikeville's Tripp Siemiller in the quarterfinals 6-0 and defeated Cumberlands' Roman Carpenter 6-2 in the semifinals. Sanchez won gold with a 6-2 victory over Cumberlands' Kevin Wilkerson.
Gus Burtts captured gold in men's fixed pins. Burtts defeated Pikeville's Braydin White 150-146 in the first round and defeated Cumberlands' Connor Mullis in the quarterfinals. He advanced to the finals with a 149-148 victory over Pikeville's Nate Harper. In the finals, Burtts defeated Cumberlands' Colton Caudill 149-148.
Austin Taylor earned silver in men's compound. Taylor posted the highest qualifying score on Saturday. He defeated Union's Daniel Carlton Jr. 150-144 in the first round and then defeated Cumberlands's Cole Zeug 148-143 in the quarterfinals. Taylor advanced to the finals with a 150-149 victory over teammate
Parker Braddock before falling to Cumberlands' Isaac Sullivan 149-148.
Anastacia Godman earned silver in women's barebow. She defeated Campbellsville's McKenzie McGee 6-4 in the first round and earned a 6-2 victory over Pikeville's Morrighain Nyer in the quarterfinals. Godman advanced to the finals with a 6-0 victory over Cumberlands' Natalie Cummins before falling to Kentucky Christian's Kennadi Mayer 7-3 in the finals.
Audrey Mills earned the last individual medal for the Blue Raiders picking up a silver in women's fixed pins. She defeated teammate
MaKenna Langley 146-143 in the first round and Midway's Jessica Badgett 147-138 in the quarterfinals. Mills then defeated Cumberlands' Julia Shepherd 145-142 in the semifinals and fell to Cumberlands' Kaitlyn Shields 150-144 in the finals.
Taylor, Braddock and
Turner Nevitt won silver in men's recurve team. The trio defeated Union 234-230 in the semifinals and then fell to Pikeville 236-231 in the finals.
Godman,
Sarah McCarthy and
Morgan Wilson earned silver in women's barebow team. They defeated Cumberlands 6-0 in the semifinals and fell to Pikeville 6-2.
Mills, Sophia Hunzninger and
Madalynn Puryear finished runner-up in women's fixed pins team. They defeated Pikeville 233-232 and then lost to Cumberlands 235-231 to earn silver.
In women's recurve team,
Layla Blevins,
Carlee Drury and
Micah Bettersworth earned bronze after falling to Pikeville 6-0 in the semifinals.
Jacob Cook,
Sean Neal and
LaQuann Williams earned bronze in men's barebow team. The trio fell to Pikeville 5-4 in the semifinals and defeated Campbellsville 5-3 to earn bronze

Burtts, Thomas Ramsey and
Lyle Uhrich earned bronze in men's fixed pins team. The tiro fell to Pikeville in the semifinals 234-227 before defeating Cumberlands 235-233 in the third-place match.
The Blue Raiders are back in action on Feb. 14 for the first day of USA Archery Indoor National Championship in Madisonville, Ky.
