LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's track and field team competed at the PNC Penny Lyles Invitational Friday and Saturday at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center Friday and Saturday.
The invitational featured over 30 teams from NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA. No team scores were kept at the event.
Justin Stearns recorded the lone national standard for the Blue Raiders over the weekend in the mile. Stearns finished with a time 4:15.35 to finish 18th and earn an NAIA B standard.
In the 60-meter qualifying
Luke Birdsong finished sixth overall and second in his heat finishing in 7.00. Deangelo Patterson finished third in his heat and 8th overall with a time of 7.05.
A quartet of Blue Raiders competed in the 200.
David Requejo recorded the best Lindsey Wilson finish coming in 19th with a time of 23.08. Trey Blanton finished 21st,
Royce Mentor was 23rd and
K'ron Sherald was 25th.
Mentor and Requejo also competed in the 400 finishing in 22nd and 23rd respectively.
Nolan Foushee finished 15th in the 800 with a time of 1:55.95 while Stearns was 20th with a time of 1:56.82.
Marti Molins finished 25th in the 800 in 1:57.41 while
Daniel Aikas was 33rd.
Logan Bullock was 39th,
Marcus Abel was 41st and
Jace Cowman was 43rd.
Foushee finished 27th in the mile with a time of 4:21.85 while Santiago Nunez finished 36th the 3,000 with a time of 9:11.34. Foushee, Stearns, Abel and Bullock teamed up in the 4x400 relay finishing in 15th with a time of 3:36.97.
In the field events,
Justin Borden recorded a jump of 6.79 meters in the long jump to finish eighth. Also in the long jump,
Dyse Harding finished 21st with a jump of 6.20 meters while
Summy Manirakiza finished in 24th.
Zach Segur finish 31st in the weight throw with a distance of 11.66 meters.
The Blue Raiders return to action on Feb. 10 for the Centre Indoor Invite in Danville, Ky.
