VERSAILLES, Ky. – On Saturday afternoon, the Lindsey Wilson men's swim team dominated Indiana Wesleyan and Midway to improve to 2-0 in dual meets.
The Blue Raiders rolled past the Eagles 186-43 and easily defeated the Wildcats 177-65.
Dario Soria earned four victories, first leading off Lindsey Wilson's 200-yard medley relay to a win at 1:37.32. He then swept the 100 and 200-yard backstroke races before posting his third individual win in the 200-yard individual medley.
Dan Spinola,
Jose Rivas, and
Clinton Eales also swam a leg each for the Blue Raiders' winning 200-yard medley relay team. Spinola went on to add a provisional time of 58.47 in the 100-yard breaststroke, Rivas collected a victory in the 100-yard butterfly, and Eales touched the wall first in the 200-yard breaststroke.
Rivas and Eales teamed up, again, along with
Azahn Hicks and
Max van Schagen to win the 200-yard freestyle relay. The latter of the four picked up an additional victory in the 50-yard freestyle.
The freestyle duo of
Sergio Ybarra and
Fabio Martin Rojo made waves individually, both scoring NAIA provisional marks in the 500-yard race to finish first and second, respectively. Ybarra also topped the field in the 1,000-yard freestyle and 200-yard butterfly, while Martin Rojo set a provisional standard with a win in the 200-yard freestyle.
The Blue Raiders return to the pool at 11 a.m. CST on Saturday, October 19 in Williamsburg, Ky to challenge Cumberlands (Ky.).
