Women's Swimming Sweeps Midway Tri-Meet

VERSAILLES, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's swim team scored a huge head-to-head victory on Saturday afternoon, defeating Indiana Wesleyan for the first time in program history as part of the Midway (Ky.) tri-meet.

The Blue Raiders bested the Wildcats 135-111 and cruised past the homestanding Eagles 174-58.

Sara Motyl turned in a standout day with three individual victories, two NAIA provisional times, and a leg in one of Lindsey Wilson's winning relays.

The junior's day started alongside Maaike Broersma, Natascha Evreinoff, and Kirsten de Goede in the 200-yard medley relay where the quartet touched the wall first at 1:49.77. Then, Motyl swept the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events with provisional marks of 1:08.41 and 2:31.17, respectively. She collected her fourth win in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:19.05.

Broersma earned two provisional winning-times of her own in the 100 and 200-yard backstrokes. She also anchored the Blue Raiders 200-yard freestyle relay, which finished first overall ahead of both Indiana Wesleyan relay teams. Hannah Woyscheszik, Alejandra Martinez, and Natalia Gorska represented the other three legs for Lindsey Wilson's "A" relay.

Outside of the relays, Gorska won top honors in the 50-yard freestyle behind her provisional-time of 25.02, Evreinoff clocked in a provisional standard of 1:01.37 in the 100-yard butterfly, and de Goede came away with an individual victory in the 1,000-yard freestyle by 17 seconds.

Next on the docket for Lindsey Wilson is a highly-anticipated dual meet at Cumberlands (Ky.) at 11 a.m. CST on Saturday, October 19.
