COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Blue Raider junior varsity volleyball team heads west to Bowling Green on Saturday for the 2024 Mid-South Conference tournament at Ephram White Gymnasium.
Lindsey Wilson checks in with a 9-4 overall record and will open in pool play at 10 a.m. CST against Georgetown (Ky.) before challenging Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) at 11:30 a.m. and Cumberland (Tenn.) at 1:30 p.m. The results from those three matches will determine the Blue Raiders' seeding for bracket play, which is slated to begin at 3:30 p.m.
In 2023, Lindsey Wilson swept its two pool play matches and knocked off Georgetown in the bracket semifinal but ultimately fell short in three sets to Cumberland in the final.
The Blue Raiders are hitting .221 this season and have laid down 75 service aces. Sophomore
Natalie Wandrie paces the offense with 96 kills, while the duo of
Gracie Friedrich and
Baleigh Young have produced 49 and 39 kills, respectively. All three of Lindsey Wilson's leading attackers boast plus-.250 hitting percentages.
At the service line,
Cammie Judd's 16 aces are a team-high, followed by
Haleigh Wood and Wandrie with 14, apiece,
Ahalia Rameriz with 11, and
Lillie Walker's 10.
Rameriz also assists the offense from her setter position, averaging 18.3 dimes per match over her last seven appearances.
Defensively, Wood has recorded double-digit digs in three consecutive matches. The sophomore's 24 versus Trevecca Nazarene on October 15 are the most by a Blue Raider this season.
Tickets for Saturday's conference tournament can be purchased through the Mid-South Conference website and must be purchased in advance.
