ELKHART, Ind. – The Lindsey Wilson women's swim team collected one dual win in the Bethel (Ind.) Quad Meet on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Raiders picked up their second triumph of the season over Indiana Wesleyan, 145-133 but fell to non-conference foe Hillsdale (Mich.), 101-159, and hosts Bethel, 111-150.
Maaike Broersma paced Lindsey Wilson with three individual wins, earning NAIA provisional standards in each. The senior started her day in the 200-yard freestyle, then touched the wall first in the 50-yard freestyle before clinching her last solo victory in the 200-yard backstroke.
Broersma went on to lead-off the Blue Raiders' winning 400-yard freestyle relay team alongside
Alejandra Martinez,
Nathalie Medina, and
Natalia Gorska. The quartet recorded a season-best time of 3:39.25 with their winning efforts.
Lindsey Wilson earned five additional provisional standards, including two from Gorska in the 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard freestyle, and two from Medina in the 200-yard butterfly and 500-yard freestyle.
Natascha Evreinoff scored the other Blue Raider provisional time in the 100-yard butterfly, clocking in at 1:01.00.
Lindsey Wilson returns to the poll at 12 p.m. CST on Saturday, November 2 in Barbourville, Kentucky for a tri-meet with Union Commonwealth (Ky.) and Campbellsville (Ky.).
