Archery Finishes Runner-Up at 3D National Championships

FOLEY, Ala. -  The Lindsey Wilson archery team posted a runner-up finish at the USA Archery 3D National Championships Saturday.

The Blue Raiders tallied 10 podium finishes and two titles. Lindsey Wilson tallied 109.5 points to finish second. This marks the third time the Blue Raiders have finished second at the 3D National Championships and first since 2022. Cumberlands won the national championship with 173.5 points while Pikeville was third with 101 points.

Austin Taylor captured gold in men's compound. Taylor tallied a score of 452 (216-236) with 28 12s to capture the championship. The Blue Raiders second gold medal came in the final event in the mixed equipment round. Taylor teamed up with T Sanchez and Anna Krampe to win gold. The trio defeated Lyon 129-94 in the first round and then defeated Montevallo 127-106. They advanced to the finals with a 142-114 victory over Lindenwood. In the finals, they William Carey 121-115.

Sanchez also earned a podium finish individually. Sanchez finished runner-up in men's recurve. He totaled 416 points with 10 12s to earn silver.

Jaden Souder (fifth in men's fixed pins), TJ Ramsey (seventh in men's barebow), Anastacia Godman (seventh in women's barebow ), Anna Krampe (seventh in women's fixed pins), Tanner Boyd (eighth in men's recurve), Gus Burtts (eighth in men's compound) and Wyatt Burtts (eighth in men's fixed pins) all finished in the top 10 individually.

In the team rounds, the Blue Raiders tallied five podium finishes. Sanchez, Boyd and AJ Shagool teamed up in men's recurve and finished runner-up with 1,123 points. Taylor, Gus Burtts and Bronson Ormes finished runner-up with       1,316 points.  Souder, Wyatt Burtts and Daniel Clayton earned silver in men's fixed pins with a score of 1,245.

Godman, Sarah McCarthy and Abigayle Maderic earned silver in women's barebow with 831 points. Krampe, Madeline McGuire and MaKenna Langley finished third in women's fixed pins with 1,160 points.

Sanchez and Layla Blevins finished second in mixed recurve team with 778 points while Souder and Krampe earned silver in mixed fixed pins team with 814 points.
