Football Travels to No. 22 Cumberland to Close out Road Schedule

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson football team closes out the road portion of its schedule Saturday traveling to No. 22 Cumberland (Tenn.) for a 1:30 p.m. CT kickoff at Nokes-Lasater Field.

The Blue Raiders (4-2, 2-1 Mid-South Conference) were last in action on Oct. 19 when they defeated Campbellsville (Ky.) 16-10 in the Battle of Highway 55. Ronald Carr forced and recovered a fumble on the Lindsey Wilson one-yard line with 20 seconds left to secure the victory. Pryor Lamb completed 19 of 32 passes and a touchdown in his first career start. Taborie Reed led the Blue Raiders with five catches for 88 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, Cameron Rankins recorded a game-high 12 tackles while recording two tackles for loss and a sack.

Lindsey Wilson enters Saturday averaging 29.7 points per game and allowing 20.5. Offensively, the Blue Raiders average 314.3 yards per game and 186.7 rushing yards per game. The Blue Raider defense ranks 18th in the NAIA allowing 288.8 yards per game and is second in rushing yards allowed per game with 45.5.

Cumberland enters play with a 6-2 record and is 2-2 in the MSC. The Phoenix defeated Cumberlands (Ky.) 49-25 last week. Cumberland totaled 352 yards of offense and had 209 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns. Luke Holloway had 11 carries for 126 yards and three touchdowns. Holloway also went 7-for-14 throwing for 143 yards and a touchdown. Jeremiah Bryant had three rushing touchdowns as well. Kion Threalkill had two interceptions. The Phoenix ranks eighth in the NAIA averaging 233.3 yards per game on the ground.

Saturday is the 13th all-time meeting between the two teams. Lindsey Wilson holds an 8-4 record against Cumberland and are 3-2 in Lebanon. The Blue Raiders have won five straight against the Phoenix including a 45-2 win last season in Columbia.
