BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's swimming team handled business on Saturday at Union Commonwealth (Ky.), sweeping the Bulldogs and Campbellsville (Ky.).
Nathalie Medina earned three individual victories, including two with NAIA provisional cuts, and provided a leg for one of the Blue Raiders' winning relays.
Maaike Broersma won two races and led-off another victorious relay, and
Sara Motyl recorded four wins with three coming individually with all provisional marks.
Medina's first win came in the 1,000-yard freestyle, then later in the meet she met provisional standards in the 200-yard butterfly and 400-yard individual medley. Her latter two times checked in at 2:11.13 and 4:40.90, respectively.
Motyl swept the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events and added an additional win in the 100-yard butterfly. Her teammate
Natascha Evreinoff finished close behind the butterfly race but did garner a provisional cut of 1:00.26. The pair, along with Broersma and
Natalia Gorska made up Lindsey Wilson's 200-yard medley relay, which hit the wall first almost 12 seconds ahead of second place.
Broersma picked up her two wins in the 100 and 200-yard backstroke, notching provisional standards in the process, while Gorska cruised to a provisional cut and win in the 50-yard freestyle.
The quartet of Gorska, Medina,
Alejandra Martinez, and
Hannah Woyscheszik comprised the Blue Raiders' 200-yard freestyle relay. The team of four bested the field with a time of 1:41.09.
Next up for Lindsey Wilson is a home dual at 11 a.m. CST on Saturday, November 9 versus Life (Ga.).
