GAMBIER, Ohio – The Lindsey Wilson men's swimming team broke a school record on the final day of the Total Performance Invitational on Saturday as the Blue Raiders finished eighth.
Sergio Ybarra broke the school record in the 1,650-yard freestyle. Ybarra finished runner-up with an NAIA "A" cut time of 15:27.55.
Fabio Martin Rojo finished 13th earning a provisional standard time of 16:18.08.
Ethan Butler finished in 16:31.14 earning a provisional cut and finishing in 20th.
Akram Nejjar also earned a provisional cut finishing in 16:38.62.
Dario Soria finished seventh in the 200-yard backstroke earning a provisional standard with a time of 1:51.21.
Cameron Johnson finished 10th in the "C" final with a time of 2:02.94.
Max van Schagen earned a provisional standard in the 100-yard freestyle prelims with a time of 45.40. In the finals, van Schagen finished seventh with a time of 45.46.
Azahn Hicks earned a provisional cut in the prelims finishing in 47.34.
Clinton Eales finished runner-up in the "C" final of the 200-yard breaststroke with a provisional cut time of 2:04.31.
Dan Spinola finished right behind Eales earning a provisional cut of 2:04.35.
Adam Lamhiti and Guillem Casesnoves also earned provisional cuts.

Jose Rivas finished fifth in the "B" final and 15th overall in the 200-yard butterfly. Rivas touched the wall in 1:54.21 earning a provisional cut.
Malte Ahrens also earned a provisional cut finishing in 1:57.34.
The quartet of Eales, Soria, Rojo and van Schagen finished 12th in the 400-yard freestyle relay finishing in 3:05.00. The "B" relay of Ahrens, Ybarra, Nejjar and Rivas finished in 3:10.14 to place 25th.
The Blue Raiders are back in action on Jan. 18 when they host the Lindsey Wilson Tri Meet against Asbury (Ky.) and Tennessee Southern.
