COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson junior varsity volleyball team concluded its 2024 season over the weekend with a pair of road wins at Bethel (Tenn.) and Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.). The Blue Raiders knocked off the Wildcats 2-1 – 21-25, 25-16, 15-9 – and upended the Lions in straight sets – 30-28, 25-20 – to finish the year 16-5 and 10-2 in the Mid-South Conference.

Lindsey Wilson muscled 56 kills over the two matches while hitting .230. Sophomore Natalie Wandrie totaled a team-high 16 kills and Gracie Friedrich and Briley Burns each added 10.

Ahalia Rameriz dished out 35 assists to go along with 14 digs, and Haleigh Wood paced the back line with 26 digs. The latter of the two also served up four aces in the win over Freed-Hardeman.

At the net, Friedrich rejected six attacks, including four against Bethel.

The Blue Raiders latest wins help make up a season-ending three-match winning streak that features an additional "Senior Night" victory over Cumberlands (Ky.) on October 29. Seniors Lillie Walker – who contributed a season-high 15 digs -- and Jada Whited were recognized after the match, and both played a key role in Lindsey Wilson's three-set victory.

Offensively, Wandrie pummeled the Patriots for 17 kills and Rameriz passed out 25 assists.

Lindsey Wilson's final stretch of the 2024 season comes after a runner-up finish at the Mid-South Conference junior varsity tournament in Bowling Green on October 26. The Blue Raiders ran the table in pool play with three two-set decisions before defeating Cumberlands (Ky.) in the semifinal and ultimately dropping a hard-fought three-setter to Cumberland (Tenn.) in the final.

As a team, Lindsey Wilson hit .218 for the day with 114 kills. Wandrie struck for 41 successful attacks, followed by Baleigh Young and Bruns with 22 and 17, respectively.

Rameriz ended up with 85 assists and 28 digs, while Wood produced a day-high 51 digs. On the block, Young picked up nine.

The Blue Raiders dominated from the service line during the tournament, as they laid down 30 aces. Wood chipped in 11 of that total and Wandrie and Walker added eight and seven, respectively.
