COLUMBIA, Ky.- The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team hosts (RV) Pikeville (Ky.) on
Tuesday in the home opener at Biggers Sports Center at 6 p.m. CT.
The Blue Raiders are coming off two wins in their appearance at the University of the Cumberlands Classic against West Virginia Tech and Miami-Hamilton (Ohio) on Thursday
and Friday. So far this season, the Lindsey Wilson offense is led by senior
Amelia Hodges who is averaging 14.5 points per game and is 61 points away from joining the 1,000-point club. Reigning Mid-South Conference Freshman of the Year, Sophomore
Taylor Guess and red-shirt freshman
Saniyah Shelton are the other Blue Raiders averaging double digits so far this season with 14 and 12 points per game.
Pikeville will open their regular season against Lindsey Wilson. The Bears fell to Marshall University (W.VA.) 87-77 in their lone exhibition match. Four Bears finished in double figures. Leading the Pikeville offense was Junior Allie Stone with 18 points, connecting on three-of-four behind the arc. Also in double figures were Junior India Blythe, Junior Jaidy Mejia-Andrade, and Sophomore Rachel Bush with 16, 14, and 13 points.
The Blue Raiders fell to the Bears last season 82-60 and will look to start off their four-game home stand off strong, defeating the Bears. Tip-Off is set for 6 pm CT in Biggers Sports Center.
