COLUMBIA, Ky. – The (RV) Lindsey Wilson football team hosts Bethel (Tenn.) Saturday at Parnell Family Stadium at 1 p.m. CT.
The Blue Raiders come into Saturday's matchup with a 5-2 record and are currently 3-1 in the Mid-South Conference. Lindsey Wilson defeated its second-straight ranked opponent last week with a come-from-behind 20-17 victory over then-No. 22 Cumberland (Tenn.).
Pryor Lamb completed a 26-yard touchdown pass to
Henry Cason with just over six minutes left in the game to give the Blue Raiders a 20-17 lead.
Kameron Barnett sealed the win with an interception in the final minute.
Cameron Rankins led the Lindsey Wilson defense with 10 tackles, his third straight game with double-digit tackles.
Braden Ford finished with six tackles and a pair of sacks.
Lindsey Wilson is averaging 28.3 points per game and averages 314.1 yards per game. The Blue Raiders rank in the top 30 of the NAIA averaging 185.4 rushing yards per game. Defensively, Lindsey Wilson is allowing 20 points per game and 301.6 yards per game which ranks 22nd in the country. The Blue Raiders allow just 72 rushing yards per game ranking fourth in the NAIA.
Bethel comes into Saturday's matchup on a three-game losing streak. The Wildcats (5-3, 1-3 MSC) fell at home to Campbellsville 14-10 last Saturday. Bethel had just 212 yards of offense with 190 coming on the ground. Jordan Cason had 92 yards on 16 carries while Kade Hewitt tallied 83 yards on 30 carries and had the lone touchdown. Jacious Clark led the team in tackles with eight.
The Wildcats are averaging 22.4 points per game and 326.3 yards per game. Bethel is eighth in the NAIA averaging 222.4 rushing yards per game. Defensively, the Wildcats only allow 12.4 points per game ranking fifth in the NAIA. Bethel ranks 13th in the country allowing 271.4 yards a game.
Saturday is the 11th all-time meeting between the two programs. Lindsey Wilson leads the all-time series 6-4 while Bethel has won the last two matchups. The Wildcats are 3-2 all-time in Columbia.
