MARIETTA, Ga. – The Lindsey Wilson women's wrestling team competed at the Eagle Madness Open on Saturday.
Alyssa Archer opened her competition in the 103-pound bracket falling to Emmanuel's Lynnile Rountree. In her first consolation match, she picked up an 11-0 tech fall over Mount Olive's Emily Fleckenstine. Archer's tournament came to an end against Mount Olive's Lilly Prendergast.
In the 110-pound bracket,
Reagan Thomas pinned Montreat's Chloe Carver in the first period. She lost to Iowa's Valarie Solorio 11-0 in the quarterfinals before picking up a 9-0 decision over Cumberlands' Elise Toste. Thomas wrapped up her competition falling to Life's Diana Gonzalez in her second consolation match.
Sydney Bridenstine opened her tournament at 131 pounds with back-to-back pins over Cumberlands' Asia Fowler and Rio Grande's Annalis Ortez. In the quarterfinals, she lost to Virginia Foard 10-0. Bridenstine then dropped a 9-3 decision to Hasting's Larissa Kaz in her first consolation match.
Bryanne Kaminsky lost her first match 5-2 against Oriyana Castex from Cumberlands in the 138-pound bracket. Kaminsky then won her next two matches by fall over Tristin Robinson and Taziyah Collins. She lost to Jennifer Soto 10-0 in her third consolation match.
Lindsey Wilson is back in action for the Presbyterian College Open on Sunday, Nov. 17 in Clinton, South Carolina.
