Women’s Basketball Looks to Break Losing Streak at Rosa Stokes Classic

COLUMBIA, Ky.- Women's basketball is on the road competing in Lebanon, Tenn. at the Rosa Stokes Classic on Friday and Saturday.

The Blue Raiders (6-2) look to add two games to the win column after dropping match-ups to Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (Ind.) 67-53 and #10 University of Rio Grande (Ohio) 90-60 at the Bevo Francis Classic in Rio Grande, Ohio Nov. 22 and 23.

Lindsey Wilson is set to lace up against Campbellsville University-Harrodsburg (Ky.) on the first day of the classic. The Pioneers are off to a 3-7 start this season just recently falling to Miami University-Middletown (Ohio) 71-45. The CU-Harrodsburg offense is led by Jada Bell and Victory Sledge who are both averaging double digit outings at 11.2 and 10.2 points per game, respectively. The Blue Raiders and Pioneers last met up on Dec. 18, 2023 when Lindsey Wilson defeated CU-Harrodsburg 104-26 in Columbia, Ky. at Biggers Sports Center.

On the second day of the classic, the Blue Raiders will take to the hardwood looking for a win against (RV) Southeastern University (Fla.). The Fire has started off the season 8-2 with their most recent win coming on Nov. 26 against Life University (Ga.) 67-58. Southeastern has four players averaging double figures. Jodi Mullins (15.9 ppg), Grace Field (12.8 ppg), Mya Herman (11.7 ppg), and Anaya Coleman (10.8 ppg) lead the offensive charge for the Fire. Southeastern is shooting 45.1 percent from the field, 32.2 percent from behind the arc, and 74.2 percent from the charity stripe. The last match-up between Lindsey Wilson and Southeastern came on Dec. 20, 2014 where the Blue Raiders took the 74-59 victory over the Fire.

The Blue Raiders will tip-off at 3 p.m. CT on Friday and Saturday.
