Women’s Basketball Closes Out Homestand With Pair of Ranked Opponents

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The receiving votes Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team closes out its homestand with a pair of ranked opponents this week. The Blue Raiders face No. 15 Cumberlands (Ky.) on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. CT and No. 11 Georgetown (Ky.) on Saturday at 1 p.m. CT at Biggers Sports Center.

Lindsey Wilson is coming off a 65-56 victory over Cumberland (Tenn.) to improve 15-6 overall and 3-2 in the Mid-South Conference. The Blue Raiders enter play with a perfect 10-0 record at Biggers Sports Center. In the victory over the Phoenix, Amelia Hodges led the way scoring a team-high 15 points while Janiya Davis added 12. Lindsey Wilson is averaging 78 points per game and allowing 65.7 a game. Lucy Patterson leads the Blue Raiders in scoring averaging 12.7 points per game and in rebounds with eight per game.

Cumberlands is coming off a 57-49 loss to then-No. 22 Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.). The Patriots are 15-6 overall this season and 3-2 in conference play. Cumberlands has one of the highest-scoring offenses in the NAIA averaging 84.4 points per game which ranks seventh. Kassie Monday lead the Patriots averaging 12.8 points per game while Channing Lewis leads the team in rebounds with 6.6 per game. Kaylie Monday leads the NAIA with 71 steals.

Tonight is the first matchup between the two teams this season. The Blue Raiders lead the series 25-23 while the Patriots have won the last three matchups.

Georgetown travels to No. 3 Campbellsville on Thursday before coming to Columbia on Saturday. The Tigers are 18-3 overall and off to a 3-2 start in conference play. Georgetown is led by AJ Stevenson who is averaging 13.4 points per game while Erin Toller is averaging 13.1 a game.

The Blue Raiders and Tigers met once already this season back on Jan. 11 where Georgetown picked up a 91-66 victory.

Lindsey Wilson takes on Cumberlands Thursday at 5:30 p.m. CT and Georgetown Saturday at 1 p.m. CT at Biggers Sports Center. Both games will be broadcasted live on the Lindsey Wilson Sports Network.
